Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Controller to join one of our stellar clients. This is a very dynamic and high profile position that plays a significant role from the production floor through to the President.

 

As Controller, you will be responsible for providing timely, accurate and compliant financial reports, and controllership activities as well as national activities across all programs. Your responsibilities include overseeing the process to ensure that models are correct and are fully accrued each month, leading risk assessment and audit readiness, supporting the operations team and holding them accountable that end to end incentive processing, payments, accounting and related financial controls are operating effectively. The Controller position will be located in Brampton, Ontario and is a full-time engagement.

 

Specific key responsibilities involved for the Controller will include:

 

  • Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection
  • Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
  • Present executive team with monthly financial reports
  • Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings collections, and payroll
  • Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the yearly budget and forecasts
  • Collaborate with CEO, executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation
  • Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation
  • Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
  • Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations G/L analysis

About You:

 

  • 8 or more years professional accounting and controllership 
  • Professional Accounting Qualification (CPA) or Equivalent Financial and Accounting qualification
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Bank reconciliations experience
  • General familiarity with product pricing
  • Cash flow management experience
  • Knowledge of budget forecasting
  • Well-founded grasp of management reporting
  • Proven knowledge of financial statement preparation
  • Capital assets experience
  • Strong familiarity with Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI
  • Experience with standard costs
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to implement solutions and vendor management experience with good organizational skills
  • Aptitude for communication and negotiation, building trusted advisor/consultant relationships and influencing Executives and Business Decision Makers
  • Implement and improve changes in procedures immediately
  • Ability to work well in collaborative and dynamic environment
