Director, Finance & Business Management
A mission-critical mandate for a results-oriented, strategic leader looking to play a key and exciting role in the delivery of efficient, cost-effective, innovative, and quality services—The Way Forward.
The Toronto Police Service is the fourth largest municipal police service in North America. With approximately 5,000 uniform officers and 2,000 civilian employees, we take pride in our diversity and in our dedication to keeping Toronto the best and safest place to be. Our well-earned reputation as a world leader in policing reflects our commitment to excellence, innovation, quality leadership, and ongoing professional development.
Ensuring the safety of residents and visitors within Canada’s largest city is no small task. Toronto is a dynamic, vibrant city with close to 3 million people, internationally renowned for its diversity and multicultural values. As the new Director of Finance and Business Management, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in a fast-paced, highly diverse environment, and contribute to the success of an organization dedicated to delivering police services, in partnership with our communities, to keep Toronto the best and safest place to be.
In February 2017, the Toronto Police Services Board approved recommendations in a ground-breaking report to address the scope and pace of change in the City’s neighbourhoods and communities and create a dynamic plan to act on emerging demands and expectations of policing. The report of the Transformational Task Force, entitled Action Plan: The Way Forward; Modernizing Community Safety in Toronto “looked beyond the way policing is currently done in Toronto to propose a modernized policing model for the City of Toronto that is innovative, sustainable and affordable – a model that will place communities at its core, be intelligence-led and optimize the use of resources and technology while embracing partnerships as a means of enhancing capacity and capability.”
