Job Description

We are currently seeking a Controller for a 6 month contract with our non-profit client.  Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will be responsible for managing the preparation of the financial statements, cash flow and oversite of accounting operations.


Responsibilities of the Controller will include:

  • Managing the preparation of financial statements

  • Cash flow management

  • Data integrity, investment reconciliations

  • Payroll and benefit administration

  • Development and implementation of IT strategy

About You:

The ideal Controller, will have the following skills and experience:

  • A recognized accounting designation (CPA, CGA, CMA or CA) with a minimum of five years of accounting experience; ideally within the non-profit sector;
  • Strong knowledge of not-for-profit accounting standards and regulations

  • Advanced level MS Excel skills

  • Strong analytical skills for problem solving, leadership and organizational skills;

  • Proven ability to work in a face paced, dynamic work environment; and,

  • The ability to liaise with all levels of staff and management;

  • Bilingualism would be considered an asset
