Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Regional Controller, the successful candidate will fill the full-time position of Assistant Divisional Controller at 40 University Avenue in Toronto.  The primary responsibility for this role is to oversee the preparation and analysis of financial accounting information of a portfolio of properties for our clients.

KEY RESPONSIBLITILES 

  • Mentor and manage 3-4 direct reports on a daily basis.
  • Manage the timely preparation and reporting of financial and operating results to our clients.
  • Manage the budget and forecasting processes.
  • Manage the preparation of quarterly and year end audit working paper files.
  • Assist Regional Controller and Divisional Controllers with the leadership and training of the accounting team.
  • Provide testing and feedback for new accounting procedures or upgrades in Yardi.
  • Analyze financial statements and complete credit reviews of prospective tenants.
  • Cash management.
  • Maintain and update leases in Yardi as required.
  • Offer service excellence to all customers; both internal and external.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Must have a CGA/CMA designation or working towards the designation.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in property and asset management would be a definite asset.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience with Yardi is an asset.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and the preparation of audited financial statements is essential.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Dedication to providing exceptional customer service, every day.

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
