Of the world’s major cities, only Vancouver, London and Paris have integrated their public transit and road network under one central authority with its own revenue stream. TransLink has a combined workforce of over 7,000 employees and manages a total asset portfolio valued at $9 billion, which includes buses, trains, stations, track, bridges, facilities, structures, and systems. Translink is in an exciting expansion phase as it rolls out Phase One of its 10-Year Vision. A new $2 billion expansion plan was adopted in fall 2016 and is in progress. With new Federal and Provincial funding commitments, Translink is poised to advance an additional multi-billion dollar program to expand its world-renowned skytrain system, develop the region’s first light rail service, replace the aged Pattullo bridge, and increase bus and rail services across the region. The 10-Year Vision propels TransLink forward in addressing the growing population and ridership trends the region has experienced – and will continue to experience – as we anticipate another million Metro Vancouver residents and 600,000 new jobs over the next 30 years.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer is a key member of the senior executive team and provides overall leadership to a broad portfolio of corporate and administrative services for this complex organization and transportation system. Given the central role of TransLink in the life of the region and the province, this is a critical public position.
The portfolio of responsibilities includes finance, human resources, information technology, strategic procurement and real estate, emergency preparedness and may include legal and risk management. As a member of the senior executive team, the Executive Vice President will participate in the development and execution of key strategies aimed at enhancing TransLink’s services, customer experience and relationships with their community partners.
As a senior financial leader with a strong background in banking, lending and bond markets, as well as experience in managing the various corporate and administrative services in this broad portfolio, you are a proven relationship builder who will lead a team of dedicated professionals in thinking creatively about how these services can best be provided. This is a “yes” position in the sense that it originates and facilitates decisions to enable the successes of the entire TransLink organization. As the new Executive Vice President, you will join a highly talented and collaborative leadership team which has the objective of creating a world class transportation network and system for a world class city.
