Job Description

Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President, Finance and Administration (VPFA) will develop and implement approved financial policies for the National Office and Federation, and will be an active participant in driving the organization’s overall strategy. The VPFA will lead all financial planning, management, reporting, administration and budgeting. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), the VPFA will work closely with colleagues, the CEO and the Board of Directors to provide timely financial reporting needed to enable them to fulfil their responsibilities. This individual will also manage the internal business operations that support the mission, vision and effectiveness of HFHC, including risk assessment and management, information technology and admin/facilities management. HFHC is striving to be results-focused and values driven in every aspect of its work.

The ideal candidate is a proven, successful financial leader with demonstrated management experience in each of the position functions and key accountabilities including overseeing the Information Technology, Facilities Management, Procurement, and Payroll functions. Experience working in a national and/or federated model would be a strong asset. The candidate will bring extensive experience in a senior financial management role including strategic and financial planning, and budgeting, while also being able to navigate ambiguity and organizational change effectively. A professional financial designation and an undergraduate degree is required. An MBA, with a focus on financial management, is preferred.
