Job Description

Our Hi-Tech client is currently looking for a Director of Finance for a 3-6 month contract opportunity with the possibility of full-time. 

As the Director of Finance you will be responsible for keeping senior leadership and Team leads apprised of all significant financial developments in addition to:

 

  • Plan and execute the management of the financial function with supervision of finance staff;

  • Fiscal reporting and controls;

  • Manage the month end closing process;

  • Design and implement accounting systems, policies and procedures along with appropriate levels of internal control;

    • Monitor revenues, expenses and cash flows;

    • Ensure full compliance with bank contracts and act as the main point of contact;

  • Monitor, analyze and communicate financial business performance for projects including revenue forecasting;

  • Manage the year-end audit process and liaise with auditors;

  • Monthly report to the Board of Directors;

  • Other related duties as required.

 

About You:

 

The ideal Director of Finance candidate will have the following:

  • A CPA designation with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar role managing a small team;

  • Experience in large complex projects, project Accounting and SRED tax credits;

  • Knowledge of Canadian General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Accounting Standards for * Private Enterprise (APSE);

  • Experience working in a multicurrency environment

  • Experience with Deltek Vision would be a strong asset;

  • Strong Superior oral and written communication skills and the ability to liaise with all levels of staff and management
