We manage the province's water supply, regulate drainage, own and operate 49 dams and related canals, write water policy and law, build needed scientific knowledge, assess water quality, assess ecological health, develop and deliver water programs, manage interjurisdictional water agreements, protect water quality, ensure safe drinking water and treatment of wastewater, reduce flood and drought damage, protect aquatic habitat and provide information about water.


The Water Security Agency was formed to lead implementation of the 25 Year Saskatchewan Water Security Plan. The plan will ensure the sustainability and quality of Saskatchewan’s surface and ground water supplies while protecting drinking water supplies from the source to the tap.

Job Description

Are you passionate about doing meaningful work?  Do you care about water as one of our most important resources?  Water Security Agency is seeking an enthusiastic Senior Project Engineer to join our team.

As a Senior Project Engineer you will provide professional engineering services and support in the investigation, design, construction and rehabilitation of all types of water management projects.  You’ll conduct field inspections, design projects, prepare cost estimates, technical documentation and drawings, meet with regulators, landowners and other stakeholders, administer contracts, provide site supervision and manage the work of engineering consultants.

Your clients will be external, like rural municipalities and consultants and internally you will work among a diverse and passionate team of professionals from fields including various disciplines of engineering, water quality, ecology, law, sociology, and public policy to name a few, that are leading this exciting challenge in our province.

 

The successful candidate will possess a degree in Civil Engineering or similar discipline, a license to practice professional engineering or geoscience from the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS) and 10 years of related experience.

 

Note: Applicants with the required education but lesser experience are encouraged to apply as they may be considered for a Project Engineer-in-Training position.  Applicants with the required education and a license to practice professional engineering and less than 10 years’ experience may be considered for a Project Engineer position.
