Magna Closures is a leading full service supplier of innovative closure systems and modules to the global automotive industry. Magna Closures also provides our customers with system integration, program management, and launch execution using our Global Innovation and Product Development processes. Our product expertise includes sealing and greenhouse moulding systems using co-extruded PVC, TPO, PP, TPV & EPDM with Stainless Steel or Aluminum.
1. Develop and perform non-routine quality tests on materials and processes. 2. Maintain up-to-date test instructions and records as per instructions/procedures. 3. Perform routine lab testing on finished products with respect to sample submissions, prototype evaluations, cost and scrap reduction programs, quality concerns and production verification. 4. Evaluate incoming material by using appropriate test equipment and methods - perform raw material testing as required. 5. Acquire and review quotes and select accredited competent subcontractor(s) for testing and calibration not covered at CET. 6. Report all test results in proper format and in a timely manner. 7. Lead in the development of new processes with the aim of improving product quality. 8. Perform life cycle testing to evaluate the durability of Co-Ex-Tec's products. 9. Ensure that all laboratory equipment is properly maintained/functional and calibrated. Perform simple repairs (preventive maintenance) on lab equipment as required. 10. Layout and preparation of samples/parts as required. 11. Perform CTS (Interlaboratory Testing) to monitor lab performance to demonstrate testing competence. 12. Develop and implement quality systems as they affect laboratory operations and plant process. 13. Assists the Engineering Manager in the implementation of the new existing programs, to ensure that all products meet the requirements of the drawings or specifications. 14. Inspects parts, gauges, fixtures and assemblies through use of the co-ordinate measuring machine. This includes the preparation of detailed reports of findings, plotting of results and recommendation of corrective action. 15. Provides part dimensional inspection data to the Engineering, Tooling and Manufacturing Departments for the preparation of sample submission parts and documentation. 16. Performs the routine cleaning and maintenance of the CMM machine and schedules the machine calibrations per the required calibration schedule. 17. Maintains log of purchase orders and machine time for subcontracted CMM work and provides records to the accounting department for billing purposes. 18. Reports any non-conformance in parts, processes or procedures to the Engineering Manager. 19. Provides gauge and fixture calibration and gauge study data where required. 20. Deals directly with CET Engineering and Quality Departments on product/tooling/fixture concern, investigates and reports on findings and recommends corrective actions for concern resolution. 21. The ergonomic design checklist is to be used to evaluate all design projects and signed off by the appropriate personnel. 22. Jack software is to be used to assess new launches and an action plan for implementation is to be developed and executed. 23. Maintain Co-Ex Tec's Quality Management System and Environmental Management System accreditation. 24. Lead Quality/Engineering/Production functions as required.
Knowledge and Education
* Post-Secondary Degree in Engineering/Science and/or equivalent experience * Well-developed communication, organizational, interpersonal and analytical abilities * 1 year minimum automotive Engineering/Quality Assurance experience. * 1 year minimum experience on DCC CMM Machine. * Ability to read engineering drawings on GD&T. * Able to perform "in house" calibration and simple maintenance on Test Equipment * Knowledge in material, processes, procedures, applications and quality systems * Knowledge in SPC. * Sound computer skills, including knowledge of software in current use
