1. Must be proficient in hands-on process trouble shooting. 2. Proving current production with "fast response" troubleshooting 3. Must have demonstrated tract record of initiating and implementing process cost reductions in Lean Manufacturing environment. 4. Set up and maintain all work cell and/or department standardized work instructions/procedures for the extrusion process. 5. Be responsible for product trials, setting up material trial runs, and conducting tests as per the die trial procedure 6. Assist in training production personnel on operating new or existing tooling, equipment and processes. 7. Improve current production part process capability and repeatability through the optimization of existing manufacturing processes 8. Ability to work independently and draw from experience in all aspect of the job assigned 9. Work closely with Project Management Team to support new product launches, engineering changes implementation and product / process continuous improvement initiatives and related activities. 10. Completing all required APQP-related activities, ECR processes, PRP (8D), and all other Quality Management System requirements as needed 11. Conduct time studies, identify capacity constraints and opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce manufacturing costs 12. Supports in the development of Process Control Plans and Process Flow Charts 13. Development and maintaining documentation for PFMEA, Operator Instructions, Rework, Change-over procedure and instruction, Manufacturing Engineering Open Issues, and Continuous Improvement Program 14. Co-ordinate, lead, and participate in various multi-disciplined teams in addressing and fulfilling various corporate objectives associated with, manufacturing process, productivity, volume outputs, scrap/rework, quality, safety, and delivery commitment 15. Optimizing all parameters to attain maximum running efficiencies for each job through creation of Standardized Work procedures (line speeds, cycle times, TaKT times, etc.) 16. Driving process change through regular maintenance of PFMEA's using the "Lessons Learned Database" 17. Providing quote direction for new business related to tooling, new materials and processes as required 18. Writing specifications, competitively quoting, negotiating, managing program timelines and budgets, buy-off, and commissioning in our facility. 19. Work with our suppliers, as required to resolve process deviations. Reduce scrap and maximize efficiencies. 20. Assisting in part design activities with design source and provide feasibility directives for ease of manufacturing and reducing cost. 21. Familiarity with various manufacturing processes such as Roll forming, Extrusion and Injection Molding. 22. Support Preventative Maintenance Program development for all manufacturing process equipment 23. Reviewing part designs and provide feasibility input for ease of manufacturing and cost reduction 24. Reviewing tooling designs/gauges to ensure they are built to meet customer and Co-Ex-Tec requirements/standards, and will run to the quoted standard 25. Reviewing facilities and equipment requirements with relevant internal and external customers/suppliers 26. Identify opportunities to achieve productivity, quality and service improvement targets for the business.
Knowledge and Education
* Must have a Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering Degree/Diploma, or applicable trade * Professional 5-10 years of experience in the automotive industry * Specialized technical knowledge conducting higher-level analysis, prioritizing taks to take action * Well-developed communication, organizational, interpersonal and analytical abilities * Manufacturing experience, formal training an asset * Familiarity with FMEA, APQP, and DOE
