Job Description



The Cambrian International department at Cambrian College requires a full-time Senior Manager, International Recruitment beginning February 2017.




  • Support the College's international student recruitment and retention activities through the supervision and direction of these activities in all active markets.

  • Design, manage, and participate directly in an international recruitment strategy for emerging markets. This will include direct recruitment activities such as attending school presentations and “study abroad” fairs; sourcing a network of effective promotional venues; and evaluating, selecting, and managing third party recruitment organizations to achieve aggressive recruitment goals.

  • Cultivate strong social and cultural ties in identified regions and develop regional marketing strategies.

  • Mentor and develop recruitment managers.

  • Liaise and support all contract recruiters in various international markets.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and develop a creative, collaborative, and positive network that will ensure that common goals and expectations are met and exceeded.





  • Four-year postsecondary degree preferably in International Business/Marketing or International Development.

  • Seven years of experience preferably working with international educational systems, including evaluating credentials and a familiarity with grading practices in different countries.

  • One year of experience having lived and worked in another country, preferably in Asia or Africa.

  • Experience working with diverse multicultural groups.

  • Working knowledge of at least one other language other than English or French.

  • Proven track record in international recruitment, and sound knowledge of strategic enrolment management.

  • Experience in providing leadership, supervision, training, and motivating a team of professionals.

  • The ability to develop financial plans, enrolment projection plans, and effectively establish and manage budgets.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft software such as Word, Outlook, and Excel.

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, conflict-resolution, and problem-solving skills.

  • Valid Canadian passport and driver’s licence.


Additional Assets/Preferred:

  • Certified Immigration Consultant.

  • Understanding of the diverse needs of the College’s target international markets.

  • Experience working within a unionized environment.
