The University invites applications, nominations and expressions of interest for the position of Secretary of the University. The Secretary of the University is a senior officer, providing leadership and expertise to ensure the effective operation and administration of the University’s system of governance. The secretary also has significant line and coordinating responsibilities for a wide range of service functions. The broad responsibilities of this position will require a sophisticated approach to University governance, strong managerial and communication skills and the ability to work collegially and collaboratively at the highest levels of the University. The ideal candidate possesses a professional or graduate degree, with several years of relevant work experience, preferably in a post-secondary environment. Direct experience with governing boards, particularly in the not-for-profit sector, or experience in a secretariat-type position in a university setting would be a distinct asset.
