The Executive Director of the U15, who reports to the Board of the U15 Group of Canadian Research Universities, works with the Executive Heads of member institutions to ensure the development and implementation of advocacy strategies in alignment with the organization’s priority objectives, bringing a coordinated U15 voice to issues of importance for the leading research-intensive universities in the country. The U15 offices are located in Ottawa, where a small staff directorate supports the work of advancing research and innovation vital to the future of Canada.
The Board of the U15 seeks an individual for the role of Executive Director who exemplifies outstanding leadership qualities, possesses a deep understanding and respect for the culture of research-intensive universities, and demonstrates a record of achievement in building partner relationships through the credibility of his/her own extensive networks and contacts. Experience working in the research and innovation sector, strong communications abilities, the capacity to function effectively in both of Canada’s official languages, and an advanced university degree are hallmarks of the successful candidate.
