The Office of the Vice-President, Research and Innovation (OVPRI) is seeking an experienced professional to manage the Office of the Vice-President, Research and Innovation. The executive director will provide critical, strategic and support to the vice-president with respect to the ongoing activities of the Office.
The Ideal Candidate Profile
A skilled operations and strategic manager, you have a Master’s degree in business administration or related field e.g. public policy, law, higher education, and at least 5 years of experience in providing senior level guidance and leadership within and complex executive environment. You have demonstrated experience in the following areas:
- Strategic planning and human resources management within a high-functioning team-based environment.
- Establishing priorities for research issues of importance and sensitivity, producing briefing materials, speaking notes and information on significant matters, correspondence, reports, policy documents, presentations and gathering appropriate background information and materials to assist team deliberations.
You have a strong consultative and collaborative approach to work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and lead initiatives with positive impact and minimal institutional disruption and delay. You have experience in marketing and communications to enhance the organization’s image and reputation and to promote and communicate success of plans, programs and activities. You have a proven track record in overseeing the organization, planning and execution of special activities, functions and events.
