The university’s Faculty of Nursing includes the Department of Nursing Science that offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) degree; the Department of Psychiatric Nursing that offers a Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing (BPN), and a Psychiatric Nursing Diploma; as well as two centres. The Centre for Professional Nursing Education offers a mosaic of innovative continuing education programs grounded in evidence-based practice and responsive to a dynamic health care environment. The Clinical Simulation Centre (CSC) is 25,000 square feet of authentic clinical spaces that set the stage for students to practice skills and critical thinking in a realistic learning environment.
Applications are invited for a full-time Academic Coordinator position with the Centre for Professional Nursing Education in the Faculty of Nursing. The Academic Coordinator will be accountable for the ongoing coordination and management of programs within the Centre for Professional Nursing Education. Specific responsibilities will include recruitment of sessional faculty, coordination of clinical placements and curriculum maintenance and development. Reporting to the Director, Centre for Professional Nursing Education, the Academic Coordinator will work with faculty and staff to ensure the offerings are academically sound and financially sustainable.
The successful candidate should have a minimal of 5 years of clinical experience, post-secondary teaching experience with familiarity within online course delivery and curriculum development. Strong organization, leadership, writing skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as a team member are required. Previous project management experience is an asset. Preferred candidates will have a Master’s degree in Nursing or Education. Active licensure or eligibility for licensure with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta is required.
