The new Fort St. John Hospital and Residential Care opened in 2012. The facility has 55 acute care beds and 123 residential care beds and is equipped to handle 22000 emergency visits per year

The Northeast of British Columbia is a region characterized by rolling hills and golden wheat plains. The beautiful landscape surrounding the Peace River is scattered with lakes and unique scenery. The population is 21,000 in Fort St. John. The community, along with nearby Dawson Creek, serves a regional population of 60,000. In order to be eligible for licensure in BC, your postgraduate training must meet the requirements of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia. Post graduate training must be obtained from an accredited and approved training program in a jurisdiction sanctioned by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
