Job Description

Northern Health Authority is seeking a family practitioner to provide primary care services in the Taylor Medical Clinic, owned by the District of Taylor.         The District of Taylor is a small northern community of approximately 1400 located 18 km from Fort St John. 

The Taylor Medical Clinic is a renovated residence that has been converted into a doctor’s office. It provides services on-site and through telemedicine. Services include:

  • Speech Pathology

  • Psychiatry services for youth

  • Well women exams

  • Corporate and occupational Health

  • Pharmacy

  • Physiotherapy 

The compensation model is negotiable, and the selected candidate may choose between a guaranteed income with no overhead, or FFS billing with a very low annual overhead. Housing is available and may also be negotiated.  

What is unique about this opportunity is the flexibility to tailor your practice to your needs and interests, including providing emergency room coverage in nearby Fort St. John.  

Once known as Taylor Flats, Taylor is the fastest growing community in the Peace River Region, a community that values and nurtures personal endeavor, affordable living and unrivaled amenities for the whole family to enjoy. It is known as the “Industrial Capital of the North” and is home to 1,500 people. Taylor is located on the banks of the Peace River. Recreational activities are in abundance and include:

  • Championship 18 hole, par 72 golf course

  • World’s Invitation Class “A” Gold Panning Championships

  • Motocross

  • Skating

  • Hockey

  • Baseball

  • Curling

  • Community pool 

A visit to the community will be offered to provide the opportunity to determine whether it will be a good fit for the candidate and their family. 

$20,000 Sign-On Bonus and $15,000 Relocation Assistance is Available! Salary/Rate $250,000+Fee for Service

In order to be eligible for British Columbia licensure your postgraduate training must meet the requirements of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia. Post graduate training must be obtained from an accredited and approved training program in a jurisdiction sanctioned by the College of Family Physicians of Canada. At this time, those countries are: Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, and Australia.
