The Department of Psychiatry (
http://www.schulich.uwo.ca/psychiatry/) is organized around four academic Divisions including General Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and Forensic Psychiatry, as well as recognized Programs in Neuropsychiatry and Developmental Disabilities. Our divisions and Programs provide an academic home for approximately 80 clinical academics and 6 basic scientists and support education, training and research in each of these areas.

The Department of Psychiatry and the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University is inviting applications for the
leadership role as Chair/Chief, Division of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry including a Full Time clinical academic faculty position as a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist at LHSC and St. Joseph’s, London. Academic rank and appointment status will be determined by experience and qualifications at the time of appointment. Candidates must hold an MD or equivalent and be eligible for licensure in the Province of Ontario with certification in Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), or be eligible for an academic license from the Royal College. The candidate will be expected to possess an additional certification by RCPSC as a Subspecialist in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, or equivalent.

The successful applicant will have an established career in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and a proven academic and clinical track record as an educator and clinical researcher.
  Potential candidates would have responsibility over all the academic activities of the division including education, research as well as providing clinical leadership.  Administrative leadership skills are required to assist in strategic and human resource planning within the department and strengthen and cultivate cross and trans-disciplinary relationships with other university departments and faculties. The candidate will foster an environment that supports a strong divisional education program in all levels of education and research. Other primary responsibilities include development and maintenance of a division human resource plan, including recruitment, fostering the development of Child & Adolescent sub-specialty residency training and supporting clinical activities and program development. The desired candidate will embrace evidence-based practice and will thrive in an environment of continuous learning and education. Compensation will include payment for services in a variety of forms including salary, alternative funding plan, fee for service, and academic support.
