The Division of General Internal Medicine, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and the Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, at the University of Toronto are seeking an Academic General Internist. The successful applicant must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment with an academic position description of either Clinician Teacher or Clinician in Quality and Innovation at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor at the University of Toronto. It is expected that the position will be approximately 60% clinical and 40% research/teaching/quality improvement. Expected start date is January 3, 2018 or shortly thereafter.
We are seeking a physician who will foster excellence in academic general internal medicine. The successful candidate will participate in the clinical, educational and research activities of the Division of General Internal Medicine at Sunnybrook. Clinical activities will be primarily focused on ward attending on the Clinical Teaching Unit and ambulatory activity in the Rapid Referral GIM Clinic and Ambulatory Internal Medicine Group Practice.
The successful candidate must hold an MD degree, be eligible for certification in Internal Medicine by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and have or be eligible for licensure in Ontario. The candidate is expected to have advanced training in education, quality improvement or health administration. Estimated compensation will be in the range of $250,000- $275,000 (fee-for-service estimate) commensurate with academic rank, qualifications and experience. Applicant will also participate in the department’s group medical, dental and life insurance benefit plans. Applications will be accepted until August 31, 2017. The first round of reviews is expected to start in the summer of 2017.
