Safety, Licensing Appeals and Standards Tribunals Ontario: Licence Appeal Tribunal – Members (part-time) (Medical Practitioner)
The Safety, Licensing Appeals and Standards Tribunals Ontario (SLASTO) is seeking medical practitioners to adjudicate appeals of driver licence suspensions for medical reasons as defined under the Highway Traffic Act.
The Licence Appeal Tribunal (LAT) is one of five constituent tribunals of SLASTO with the specific mandate to adjudicate and resolve appeals concerning compensation claims and licensing decisions made by a variety of regulators under laws that protect consumers and the public and ensure the integrity of the regulated businesses and occupations. The LAT derives its legislative authority from the Licence Appeal Tribunal Act, 1999.
Appointment is by Order-in-Council for an initial two year term and is subject to renewal for a maximum of 10 years in a given position, upon the recommendation of the Executive Chair.
