A full-time permanent faculty position in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition with specific interest and expertise in paediatric clinical nutrition is available effective July 1, 2017 at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), 555 University Avenue, Toronto, ON, which is an academic health science centre dedicated to the care of children; affiliated with the University of Toronto.
The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition comprises 15 highly collegial faculty who provide clinical programs that cover the breadth of the subspecialty and who maintain a high volume and high impact research output.
The successful candidate must be trained in paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition and must have an interest and expertise in paediatric clinical nutrition, including the assessment and management of children with nutritional disorders, and the provision and oversight of enteral and parenteral nutrition. Responsibilities will include providing high quality in-patient and out-patient care for children with gastrointestinal, liver and nutritional disorders, children requiring liver transplantation, and the provision of gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures, in a tertiary/quaternary care environment. Active participation in clinical research and teaching will be required.
We are specifically seeking an individual who has the potential to fulfil a role as a leader of clinical nutrition at the Hospital for Sick Children.
The successful candidate will be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto. Rank and salary ($210,000-$280,000) per annum will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will be eligible for a benefits package which includes medical, dental, life insurance, long term disability insurance, group insurance, pension plan, vision care, academic allowance and a relocation package and may be eligible for a one time signing bonus and/or mortgage assistance. All candidates must be certified or eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or have comparable qualifications. Candidates must hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
