Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief of Staff (COS) is the senior physician leader of HRH and is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of medical care to our patients. Working collaboratively with a very engaged Board of Directors, the President & Chief Executive Officer, HRH Physicians, the Senior Leadership Team and the Foundation, the COS will contribute to the implementation of the new strategic plan for the hospital. The CoS will provide a particular focus on the strategic directions related to the academic mission, developing a culture of high reliability and digital innovation. In addition to a medical degree, certification to practice in the Province of Ontario, he/she will possess in-depth knowledge of the Public Hospital’s Act, professional licensing/regulatory requirements, medical/legal issues, Hospital by-laws, Hospital operations, health system structure and functioning and governance systems and processes.
