The Creekside Detox program is seeking a physician candidate for the Creekside Detox Program on a part-time basis. The Detox Program is located within the Creekside Withdrawal Management Unit (CWMU), located behind Surrey Memorial Hospital and forms part of the campus of addictions services being developed in Surrey. Operational 7 days a week, the Detox program provides a medically supervised residential withdrawal service. Consideration may be given to making this a full-time position.
The role of the physician is to act as an Addiction Medicine Physician to the program. The physician should expect to take a leadership role in expanding their services in keeping with the development of the addictions campus. The physician will be expected to supervise learners, including visiting Family Practice and Senior Psychiatric residents.
Physicians are expected to have a valid methadone exemption and keen interest in Addiction Medicine.
The CWMU Detox program is operational 7 days a week. Physicians must be available for telephone calls for the day they cover the service. Time commitment rarely exceeds 3.5 hours.
