Royal Columbian Hospital is seeking a full time Tertiary Neonatologist. The hospital located in the heart of the Fraser Health region in New Westminster is currently undergoing redevelopment. The hospital has 24 beds in NICU, of which 12 are Tertiary and 12 are Level 2. It maintains strong collaboration with the other hospitals in the region and is affiliated with the University of British Columbia Medical School teaching program.
The Neonatologist will be part of the 1 in 6 rotation . The successful Candidate will need to participate in Teaching UBC students and residents. He/She will also be expected to develop programs for Pediatrics and Neonatology. Applicants must have FRCPC with minimum 2 years Fellowship in Neonatology and should be eligible to apply for the Canadian Neonatology exams. They must also be eligible for Registration with College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC

The Royal Columbian Hospital Redevelopment is a multi-year, multi-phase project to increase the hospital's capacity, beds and services. Phase one is underway and includes multiple projects, many which prepare the hospital’s infrastructure for future expansion as well as a new 75-bed mental health and substance use wellness centre with more outpatient clinics by late 2019/early 2020. Phase two, if approved by government, proposes to add an acute care tower with more beds for intensive care, cardiac intensive care, obstetrics and medicine/surgical and a new larger emergency by late 2022. Phase three proposes to upgrade existing buildings to support areas in the Health Care Centre, such as the laboratory and pharmacy, by 2025.
