Job Description

Overview of Position:

HUB International in Toronto, Ontario is currently looking for a passionate Commercial Account Executive with experience managing a full cycle workflow for Commercial Lines Not-For-Profit Program Accounts that are mid to large sized accounts. This role will work collaboratively with an Account team.  This role manages existing accounts with opportunity to up-sell and cross-sell, being innovative in identifying opportunities for growth of the book, working in a supportive team and management environment in which knowledge is shared and development encouraged.

Primary Responsibilities:

Your knowledge and experience in commercial insurance combined with your attention to detail and customer service focus are the keys to success in the role of Commercial Lines Account Executive. 

  • Work in a team based structure with an assigned Account Associate and Assistant to retain and grow existing portfolios.

  • Supporting Account team by researching and analyzing client coverage trends and identifying areas of risk and opportunities along with solutions.

  • Strong client management of long tenured large accounts and ensuring client retention and satisfaction

  • Generation of New Business and current client up-sell/cross-sell

  • Preparing and presenting to clients

  • Manage renewal list distribution within Practice on all codes

  • Acts as escalation for any unresolved outstanding client premiums.

  • Account business planning and forecasting.

  • Coaching and mentoring an Account Team.

  • Establish networks and partnerships for a diverse book of business.

  • Providing suggestions for continuous improvements in workflows and procedures for sales and service.

  • Effective client management.

  • Participating in industry networking functions, training and professional development courses to enhance skills industry knowledge.

 Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Insurance (broker, underwriting or claims) on diverse commercial accounts

  • RIBO License

  • Experience with commercial mid to large sized accounts desired

  • Strong sales or business development skills

  • Prior client facing experience with professionals desired

  • Prior experience with Commercial programs or large volumes of renewals

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

  • Experience on EPIC or equivalent insurance management system

  • CIP Designation required or in progress

  • Strong organizational, time and client management skills

  • Effective communication skills: verbal and written

  • Strong team player and leadership coaching skills

  • Proactive and customer focused approach

  • Strong initiative and follow up skills

  • Knowledge of diverse insurance policies and emerging insurance trends

  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License for travel to client sites across Ontario

 

Required Skills:

  • Ability to work collaboratively as a key member of a team and independently with minimal supervision;

  • Strong attention to detail, time management and analytical skills;

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills are also required.
