Established in October 1981, RIBO regulates the licensing, professional competence, ethical conduct, and insurance related financial obligations of all independent general insurance brokers in the province.

Job Description

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • ·         Works closely with the Director, Complaints and Investigations
  • ·         Conducts on-site investigations in accordance with the Act and Regulations
  • ·         Obtains and gathers required confidential documentation and information to be used as evidence including statements from witnesses and registrants
  • ·         Participates in audits of registrants
  • ·         Analyses written enquiries regarding registrants
  • ·         Maintains investigation files including documents and correspondence as necessary
  • ·         Prepares notices and summaries as required for investigations
  • ·         Attends, participates and presents at meetings of a complaint and/or disciplinary matter
  • ·         Other responsibilities and projects as may be determined by the Director, Complaints and Investigations
  • Minimum Requirements:

    • ·         CAIB and/or CIP designation
    • ·         5-10 years industry experience – specific to insurance brokerage operations
    • ·         Bachelor’s degree with a strong understanding and competencies within business and finance, including accounting and legal terminology
    • ·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications
    • ·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
    • ·         Excellent problem-solving, time management and organizational skills
    • ·         Ability to work independently and in a team environment
    • ·         Ability to maintain confidentiality and use good judgment
    • ·         Previous experience as a Principal Broker an asset
    • ·         French language an asset
    •        Travel Requirement: Must have own vehicle to use for business purposes.  Compensation will be in accordance with established guidelines.
