Job Description

We are looking for an entrepreneurial claims associate to lead Turo claims in Canada.  The associate will handle all Turo claims volume, and be responsible for building out all the policies and procedures required to make the claims experience for our Canadian users as smooth and efficient as possible. Great candidates will have demonstrated expertise in handling and investigating auto physical damage claims as well as an entrepreneurial mindset.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Handle all incoming claims for Turo Canada
    • Provide exceptional customer service
    • Investigate and process auto claims filed by Turo owners and travelers
    • When possible, assist Turo members in the self-resolution process
    • Coordinate claims processing with Turo's insurance partner (Intact)
    • Collect any amount due from travelers
    • Maintain accurate documentation
  • Develop the processes, procedures, and metrics required to scale Turo’s claims operations in Canada
  • Manage day to day claims relationship with Intact, Turo’s insurance partner
  • Train and supervise outsourced team of Turo claims handlers (within 6 to 12 months)
  • Assist with U.S. claims as needed
Qualifications
  • Must be bilingual in English/French
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in auto claims handling experience, preferably with a major auto insurance carrier or car rental company
  • Analytical, systems thinker.  Capable of developing and iterating on new operational processes.
  • Exceptionally organized and metrics-driven.
  • BA/BS or equivalent required. Provincial licensing desirable
  • Outstanding personal qualities, conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
  • Must be a team player, with positive mental attitude, high energy, high integrity, strong work ethic, enthusiasm, sense of humor, and a commitment to the mission
  • Commitment to high responsiveness and availability
  • Strong proficiency with technology: Zendesk, CRM systems, Google Docs, MS Office, internet, mobile systems, claims management systems. Mac expertise a plus
  • Bonus: Experience in balancing solutions with multiple interested parties valuable, as our two-sided marketplace counts owners, renters, third parties, and the company all as meaningful stakeholders
