Job Description

Lloyds Underwriter – Full time – 35hrs/week

What will you get to do? As part of  our Lloyds Underwriting Team, you will be responsible for assessing, accepting or declining new business submissions, underwriting and negotiating new business, rating renewals and policy endorsements, reviewing claims, conducting audits as necessary, participating in the annual contract renewal process, updating and maintaining wordings and manual, participating in industry events, and ensuring your knowledge and underwriting skills are always leading edge; always maintaining a critical eye and mind.

What do you need to bring to the table?

  • CAIB, CIP or CRM  designation
  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial insurance experience 
  • Previous commercial underwriting experience would be considered an asset    
  • Strong knowledge of insurance wordings 
  • University degree would be considered an asset
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Professionalism
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to work in a changing environment
  • Critical thinker with excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Motivated and a self-starter
  • Strong time management skills
  • Organized and efficient
