Job Description

The position of Broker Sales Manager reports to the Director, Alberta Region. As the Broker Sales Manager, you will have the following accountabilities:


  • Develop and maintain effective strategic partnerships with Pembridge brokers in the territory;

  • Support Pembridge retention and growth goals through the implementation and monitoring of function specific strategies;

  • Assess competition and market opportunities within the territory on a regular basis to identify strengths, opportunities, weaknesses and threats;

  • Develop, recommend, implement and review a 3-12 month business plan for assigned brokers;

  • Maintain a detailed understanding of broker needs and their customer’s needs in order to provide valuable consultation.

 

Qualifications include:


  • A minimum of 5 years insurance industry experience such as underwriting, marketing, claims or as a licensed broker;

  • University degree and/or active participation in CIP courses or equivalent work experience;

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written;

  • Ability to grasp, comprehend and respond effectively to conditions, developments and practices affecting the organization;

  • Ability to see the big picture and adjust work to reflect the complex network of forces at play is essential;

  • Knowledge of the regional insurance market and the brokers within the market;

  • Ability to influence, convince, direct and persuade others is an important skill requirement.
