We have two opportunities available – a permanent Senior Commercial Property Underwriter and an 18 month Junior Commercial Auto Underwriter. Both are a part of our Commerical Underwriting department in Edmonton. As a key player on our underwriting team, you will help SGI CANADA reach its growth objectives for the Alberta market and will contribute to ensuring that we provide our brokers with excellent service while delivering profitable business. We will be looking to you to review, evaluate and determine insurability for our product and to provide direction to your team on the guidelines and procedures that support our vision.

Candidates must bring the education and experience to succeed in this unique opportunity — after all, we’re counting on you. For the Senior Underwriter, we are looking for candidates who have completed their Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation or a diploma specializing in insurance and risk management. Candidates should have a minimum of eight years experience in commercial property underwriting.
For the Junior Underwriter, we are looking for candidates who have completed three Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) courses ORsome post-secondary education specializing in insurance and risk management along with two years experience in commercial auto underwriring. An alternative combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered.
