WE are seeking an experienced people leader and hands-on underwriter who has the experience and expertise to lead a team of underwriters as an Underwriting Supervisor. Reporting to the Underwriting Manager, you will manage the workload and workflow within a unit of experienced underwriters ensuring quality control and service levels are met. On occasion you will step into the role of Underwriter to directly assist the department.
With strong industry knowledge gained through several years of directly related experience, you will coach and mentor, provide subject matter expertise, technical direction and training to staff. In this role, you will assist in monitoring staff performance and conducting regular reviews. Your commitment to customer service is evident as you build strong relationships with agents, staff and others that you interact with.
Completion of Post-Secondary education.
Minimum five (5) years of property and casualty insurance experience.
Previous experience as a Team Leader or Supervisor would be preferred.
Preference to those working toward or achieved CRM or FCIP and/or pursuing other continuing development.
