Job Description

Reporting directly to the Manager, Risk Management, the Risk Management Analyst will support the Corporate Risk & Environmental, Health & Safety department with regular analytical reporting, communication and support of Insurance and Environmental, Health & Safety programs, as well as the department administrative duties.


  • Minimum 3 years experience in risk management preferred or Insurance/Broker experience
  • Canadian Risk Management (CRM) or Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation preferred
  • Strong understanding of domestic and foreign based Insurance and Risk Management practices
  • Prior experience with global fronted programs and use of an offshore captive facility an asset
  • Advanced knowledge using MS Office Suite of software (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Detail oriented individual with proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to work independently under tight deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills; a flexible and team oriented personality
  • Desire to continually improve processes and systems
  • Ability to speak another language an asset



  • Assist Manager and VP in the renewal of all Global Insurance Policies Assist with the preparation of annual Insurance Premium Budget Templates
  • Assist with annual insurance premium billing spreadsheet
  • Maintain premium payment log in support of the Accounting Department quarterly accrual review
  • Liaise with Broker to distribute annual Insurance Certificates, US & Canada Auto Driver Cards
  • Collect annual US and UK Payroll and Global Cargo values for premium adjustment purposes
  • Assist in communicating to global operations regarding insurance renewal results, etc
  • Assist with preparation of the quarterly US Worker’s Compensation report to management
  • Track risk control hours with US Worker’s Compensation carrier
  • Assist with tracking of Property Loss Prevention Reports & Insurer web portal data input
  • Manage Loss Run data reports for management, Captive actuarial studies, etc
  • Assist with tracking of global Infrared Scanning Reports
  • Assist with reporting and management of routine auto losses as needed
  • Management of US & Canada Auto Fleet listing
  • Maintain Risk Management Manual and Insurance Summaries Manage Business Travel Policy reporting to broker
  • File and maintain archives of the global Corporation’s insurance policies and documentation

Environmental Health & Safety

  • Maintain the Phase I report files and current listing for insurance purposes
  • Assist in routine communications to vendors and governmental authorities as needed
  • Assist with processing of contractor & legal invoices to Accounting & outside insurers as needed
  • Maintain the quarterly reporting template and distribution to Operations
  • Assist with quarterly EHS Plant report submissions
  • Assist with preparation and final distribution of the consolidated accident statistics


  • Reporting of claims on-line to insurers
  • Maintain the Risk and Environmental Management Department’s office files and archives
  • Maintain contact lists for email distribution
  • Distribution of the quarterly reports
  • Open mail, send faxes, email communications, copy, file, maintain paper or electronic documents and arrange couriers as required
  • Book and manage on-site meetings and travel arrangements as needed
  • Perform other duties and special projects as requested
