Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, Property Claims, as the Senior Auto Field Claims Specialist you will investigate auto claims and work with our customers to settle auto claims throughout the Edmonton region.  This position will work remotely from a home office or you can do a combined flexible schedule working out of our Pembridge Office in Edmonton.


Specific accountabilities include:

  • Estimate physical damage of vehicles using the Mitchell estimating system;

  • Negotiate with collision repair shops and customers regarding the repair process of the vehicle;

  • Work closely with the inside Auto Claims adjusters;

  • Determine whether the vehicle is a total loss based on the amount of repairs, salvage value and loss of use;

  • Settle total losses with customers;

  • Work independently to organize daily work routine;

  • Provide customers with superior service in a professional manner;

  • Other tasks as required.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Post-secondary education is preferred and a minimum of 3-5 year auto appraising work experience;

  • Must have the  I-CAR Platinum designation or currently working on obtaining this designation;

  • Experience in estimating vehicles using ADP or Mitchell software would be considered an asset;

  • Knowledge of the insurance industry in relation to the auto policies and auto repair procedures is considered an asset;

  • Completion of CIP designation or desire to obtain is preferred;

  • Strong time management and organizational skills as well as the ability to work in a fast paced environment;

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a commitment to providing outstanding customer service;

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment.
