Job Introduction
Responsible to optimize the Shipping/Receiving functions, Sequencing, Material Storage and all material movement to, from, and within Integram on a daily basis. Responsible to design and implement cost effective methods for handling all components using expandable, returnable and internal packaging.



Major Responsibilities
Complete and update the packaging matrix for IWS Design packaging required.

Maintain plan for every part database (PFEP) and check data planning in system.

Study and help optimize transportation to and from suppliers.

Minimize the cost of freight for assigned suppliers.

Manage returnable assets within their designated shipping loops and provide problem resolution for to avoid any downtime.

Investigate returnable versus cardboard packaging and optimize cost.

Identify and implement Continuous Improvement (CI) projects to reduce waste in all areas of the facility and business.

Apply logistics modeling techniques to address issues such as operational process improvement or facility design or layout

Manage and update the facility material layout for accuracy and provide input on amount of space needed for storage.

Determine the best method for moving and presenting line side materials to operators using World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles and methods.

Developing Kanban and sequenced delivery within IWS.

Conduct logistics studies or analyses, such as time studies, zero-base analyses, rate analyses, network analyses, flow-path analyses, or supply chain analyses. Analyze logistics processes and optimize Material Handlers within the system.

Manage all plant lift truck, tugger, part sequencer, cardboard, Automative Storage and Retrevial System (ASRS) operator and dock driver work instructions, job element sheets and time studies.

Manage and update internal material process flow chart value stream maps.

Work closely with the Materials Department in to establish and implement procedures, policies and continuous improvement activities related to material logistics.

Assist the Manufacturing Engineers in the elimination of Muri, Muda and Mura through material handling improvements.

Work with the plant manufacturing engineers to achieve the goal of zero lift truck traffic in the facility.

Benchmark other facilities for best practices in material handling and stay current on the latest material handling methods in the industry.

Perform regular racking inspections and highlight any non-conformances.

Identify or develop business rules or standard operating procedures to streamline operating processes.

Determine and develop appropriate sources of supply and maintain cooperative working relationship with vendors.

Negotiate pricing and timely procurement of non-productive/non-automotive production materials.

Develop and send request for quote to suppliers.

Source and secure new leases for Integram Windsor Seating vehicles.

Support Launch process, Bulletin quoting and Capital Expenditure procurement for Materials

Assist in all inventory activities.

Take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of a worker.

Work in conjunction with the Materials Manager in order to establish and implement procedures, policies and continuous improvement activities related to material logistics

Ensure that Health, Safety and Environmental standards are adhered to in accordance to the Magna Charter and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

To ensure that the Employee Opinion Survey (EOS) objective is achieved in your department and in IWS.

Support the spirit of the employee charter.

Follow all guidelines in accordance with latest revision ISO-14001, ISO 9001 , IATF 16949 , Customer Specific & CCC Requirements .

Other duties as assigned.



Knowledge and Education
An Engineering Graduate with a minimum of 3 years experience in an automotive packaging engineering environment. Proven project and time management skills. Computer literate, including proficiency in AutoCAD, Word, Project and Excel.



Work Experience
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of the requirements of just in time (JIT).
