Water Security Agency (WSA) is a unique organization in Canada - bringing together all of government's core water management responsibilities in one place. We manage the province's water supply, regulate drainage, own and operate 49 dams and related canals, write water policy and law, build needed scientific knowledge, assess water quality, assess ecological health, develop and deliver water programs, manage interjurisdictional water agreements, protect water quality, ensure safe drinking water and treatment of wastewater, reduce flood and drought damage, protect aquatic habitat and provide information about water.

The Water Security Agency was formed to lead implementation of the 25 Year Saskatchewan Water Security Plan. The plan will ensure the sustainability and quality of Saskatchewan’s surface and ground water supplies while protecting drinking water supplies from the source to the tap.

Job Description

Water Security Agency is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to add to our team. This employee requires a sound understanding of professional engineering theory and principles and their application in a work environment.  This employee must be aware of other activities within the work area and organize their work accordingly.  Working with and influencing others in order to reach agreement involves employing tact and discretion; this is especially true when dealing with landowners and other project stakeholders.  Most issues are based on common goals and interests.  

This employee will provide professional engineering expertise in developing accurate and reliable flow and water level forecasts, and in developing appropriate operation plans utilizing; at times, sophisticated computer models. There is a requirement to stay abreast of technological innovation and new developments in the engineering field.

You will work among a diverse and passionate team of professionals from fields including engineering, water quality, ecology, law, sociology, and public policy to name a few, that are leading this exciting challenge in our province.
