Through the creation and dissemination of scientific knowledge and expertise, our researchers, clinicians and students work not only to address society’s growing health care needs in a wide range of biomedical areas, but also in the delivery of high quality healthcare and to improve services such as detection, prevention, diagnosis and treatment. The Faculty is now recognized as a national and world leader in medical education and research for these efforts, and our students graduate with the skills and experience necessary to expertly address the health care needs of a global population. As one of Canada’s leading research-intensive institutions, the uOttawa Faculty of Medicine has a long history of conducting the highest quality basic and clinical research, much of which is conducted in partnership with affiliated teaching hospitals and research institutes.
