Capital Projects Manager

As Capital Projects Manager, you will manage the coordination of major capital improvement and Seismic mitigation projects within the District. You will work alongside and assist the Director of Facilities and Planning with the District’s strategic capital planning, providing estimates of future capital projects and making project plan submissions to the Ministry. Furthermore, you will work to ensure that project designs and plans are compliant with municipal requirements, Ministry design criteria, School District’s policies, and other relevant regulatory agencies.
In your role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of construction project management from design planning, constructing scheduling, inspection and supervision, budget monitoring, administering contracts to managing the capital projects tendering process. You will also work with a range of individuals including the design team, architects and contractors. Further, you will consult with District staff, students, parents and public stakeholders to elicit input on construction projects to ensure that their needs are considered.
As a seasoned capital projects manager or construction manager, you have a record of 10 years’ post designation experience and in-depth knowledge of facilities, planning and project management, you have a strong leadership background managing teams comprised of diverse roles. Also, you have top-notch planning and management skills, along with the communication, analytical, problem solving and leadership abilities to ensure the School District’s success.
As an effective communicator, you have a collaborative and positive team approach that enables you to work respectfully with a wide range of stakeholders, including colleagues, elected trustees, our parent community, government and employee groups.
