Job Description

Dalhousie University and the Nova Scotia Health Authority are seeking a qualified full-time ophthalmologist with sub-specialty training in glaucoma to practice in a challenging and rewarding community-based and academic environment. Candidates for this position must have an MD and should have completed a minimum of 12 months of post-residency fellowship training in glaucoma including active exposure and participation in clinical research. The successful candidate will possess excellent clinical and surgical skills for both adult and pediatric cases, and demonstrate an ongoing interest in clinical and/or basic science research and teaching. This position has a 20% research commitment, and applicants with a research degree (MSc or PhD level) will be given preference. The successful applicant  must be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and be eligible for a full medical license in the province of Nova Scotia and for attending privileges at the Nova Scotia Health Authority. The successful candidate will join a community-based practice in Halifax. This will be a clinical continuing university appointment at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor.
