Central Zone of Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a full-time, community-based Respirologist to start in September 2018.The successful candidate will be eligible for staff privileges at Dartmouth General Hospital, a 150 bed acute-care community hospital, to work within a group of 12 internists. Responsibilities include provision of hospital-based Respirology services such as bronchoscopy, pulmonary function test interpretation and inpatient consultations. Participation in the general internal medicine call schedule and provision of medical-surgical ICU coverage is required. Establishment of an outpatient community-based Respirology practice is expected. Remuneration is fee-for-service, except for ICU, which is via an alternate payment plan. Dartmouth is a vibrant community that is a 15-minute drive from Halifax. The downtown core offers many dining, cultural and shopping opportunities. Dartmouth is known as “the city of lakes” with many public and residential lakes to take advantage of within the community.
Candidates must hold FRCPC (or equivalent) in Internal Medicine with subspecialty certification in Respirology. Academic appointment rank at Dalhousie University will be based on qualifications and experience. The position provides opportunities to collaborate with members of the Division of Respirology, such as teaching students at the undergraduate and post-graduate levels.
