Applications are invited for an academic position with the Libin Cardiovascular Institute of Alberta and the Departments of Cardiac Sciences at Alberta Health Services and the University of Calgary. This will be a major clinical appointment at the Clinical Assistant Professor level (or higher) for an outstanding interventional cardiologist with additional training and expertise in epidemiology and population health. The position will be based at Foothills Medical Centre located in Calgary, Alberta.
The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in all aspects of Adult Interventional Cardiology. Clinical responsibilities will include participation in Cath Lab / PCI duties, including in-patients, ambulatory care, and on a consultative basis in conjunction with other specialists. Preference will be given to candidates with advanced training or expertise in complex coronary interventions; including chronic total occlusion PCI, and in advanced hemodynamic support techniques.
Qualifications include an MD, training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology and additional training and experience in Adult Interventional Cardiology. A record of excellence in clinical research is desirable. In particular, the ability to integrate and utilize the opportunities afforded by the Alberta Provincial Program for the Outcome Assessment in Coronary Heart Disease (APPROACH) database is an asset.
The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
