Canada-Ontario-Toronto

Company Information

Waterfront Toronto was established by the Government of Canada, the Province of Ontario and the City of Toronto in 2001 to oversee and lead the renewal of the city’s waterfront. Our mandate is to deliver a revitalized waterfront that brings together the most innovative approaches to sustainable urban development, excellence in urban design, real estate development, and leading technology infrastructure. Working with the community, and with public and private-sector partners, Waterfront Toronto creates complete neighborhoods anchored by parks and public spaces, and diverse, sustainable, mixed-use communities that offer a high quality of life for residents, employees, and visitors alike. We are transforming the waterfront for the use and enjoyment of the people of Toronto, Ontario and Canada, to foster economic growth and to redefine how the city, province and country are perceived by the world.

Our investment to date of $1.3 billion of largely government funding has resulted in private sector investments that have generated $3.2 billion in economic output to the Canadian economy; $622 million in government revenues; and 16,200 full-time years of employment. Projects include master planned communities (such as the award winning West Don Lands), innovative parks and public spaces (such as Canada’s Sugar Beach, Corktown Common and Underpass Park) and the revitalization of Toronto’s main waterfront boulevard (Queens Quay).

We now have two (2) unique opportunities available which are focused on the Construction of the Port Lands Flood Protection Enabling Infrastructure Project (PLFPEI). This $1.25 billion PLFPEI project is a comprehensive strategy for flood protecting the south-east district of downtown Toronto and will unlock nearly 356 hectares (880 acres) of the lands for revitalization and facilitate billions of dollars in private investment.  Come join Waterfront Toronto and help make a difference.
