W&J Construction is looking for an experienced full time Class 1 truck driver with end dump and low bed experience to join its team.
Career Opportunity Description:
The Driver is responsible for operating a modern Kenworth tandem dump truck with and without a pup in a safe and appropriate manner. At times the driver may be asked to operator a tractor with demo box, end dump, tilt deck and low bed. The driver must clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by legislation, policies and procedures.
Responsibilities and Duties
· Perform daily pre-trip and safety checks.
· Clean and maintain equipment as scheduled.
· Work in accordance with corporate/governing safe work procedures.
· Attend and participate in all toolbox meetings, topics, concerns.
· Abide by the requirements contained in W&J Construction Ltd. safety manual.
· Ability to fluently read, write and speak in the English language.
· Ensure that any debris caused by the loading/unloading is cleaned up
· Complete all necessary paperwork and permits (may include, but is not limited to, daily logs, inspection logs, equipment inspection, hours of service, overweight permit etc.)
Requirements
· Must have clean drivers abstract and possess a class 1 license with air endorsement
· 3+ years of commercial driving experience
· Heavy equipment operating skill is a large benefit
· Knowledge of equipment safety
· Knowledge of and ability to perform routine equipment maintenance
· Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed
· Ability to work diplomatically and professionally with others
· Work safely around hazards associated with the trade
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $28.00-$32.00 per hour
