Job Description
The Night Front Desk Agent is responsible for providing a warm welcome, assisting late arriving guests and ensuring all accounts are accurate for early departing guests. The Night Front Desk Agent is also responsible for setting the Front Office team up for success the following day with the completion of set tasks.
What you will be doing:

Demonstrates Fairmont Service Promise Standards and Fairmont Values in all interactions with both guests and colleagues.

Ensures each guest receives a warm and welcoming reception & fond farewell according to all Fairmont Hotels & Resorts Standards

Communicates with other departments for general hotel knowledge as well as completing guest requests effectively and promptly
-
Posts all transactions on a regular basis, to ensure that all bills are kept up to date and accurate and processes all guest folios upon departure

Maintain accurate records of daily transactions

Take initiative to add a personalized experience

Promote the hotel facilities, looking for opportunities to enhance a guest’s stay

Cash handling which includes currency exchange and balancing a float
-
Become familiar with group resumes ensuring all details of incoming and outgoing groups are observed
-
Runs end of day reports for a variety of departments within the hotel

Prepares ALL – Accor Live Limitless members arrival packages and ensures appropriate room assignment

Complies with Fairmont Brand Standards, Local Standard Operating Procedures and policies of the Front Office

Prepare supply orders and stock front desk
-
Remains observant and responds to each guest who approaches the Front Desk

Drives Rate and RevPar through up-selling guests upon arrival
-
Adheres to Health & Safety policy and ensuring safe work practices are followed at all times

Adheres to the hotel’s environmental policies and procedures
-
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
-
Service focused personality is essential; previous Front Desk experience preferred
-
A passion for Guest Service and a skill for anticipating guest needs
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills required
-
Highly organized, detail oriented, able to multitask, able to make decisions and take initiative, able to work alone and with little supervision
-
Ability to work in an ever-changing and often busy environment
-
Must be self-motivating, a team player and have a high level of guest service orientation
-
Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities
-
Must have excellent verbal, comprehensive & written English communication skills
-
Must have a professional attitude along with impeccable presentation
-
Highly organized with the ability to be flexible with variety shifts weekday, weekends, holidays and overtime shifts. The shifts are primarily overnight
-
Computer literacy a must with Opera experience an asset
-
Silverware, Microsoft Excel, and Word knowledge are assets
-
Physically able to complete all aspects of the position without restriction

Previous Hotel Front Office experience an asset
-
Post secondary diploma in a Hospitality Management Program an asset
-
Fluency in a second language as it relates to the hospitality industry is an asset
