NOW HIRING: CLASS 1 DRIVERS
CHABOT is an established Winnipeg sand & gravel company; now accepting applications for experienced Class 1 gravel truck drivers for the 2023 season.
Gravel hauling & end-dump experience preferred. All short haul in Manitoba. Applicants must have excellent knowledge of truck routes for Manitoba and City of Winnipeg.
Qualifications:
- Valid Manitoba Class 1A Driver’s License
- Clean Driver’s Abstract
- Previous experience with gravel hauling: minimum 2 year
- Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and written in english
- Knowledge of City of Winnipeg routing
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate semi-trucks with end-dump trailers to transport sand and gravel
- Operate semi-trucks with belly-dump trailers to transport sand and gravel
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection of vehicle
- Pre-plan trip route and obtain delivery slips needed to transport goods
- Ensure cargo is secured properly compliant with safety requirements
- Safely and efficiently transport and unload cargo
- Report and record load information, hours of service, distance traveled and fuel expenditure
- Communicate with dispatcher, other drivers and customers by means of wireless devices and on-board CB radio
- Follow all appropriate traffic laws
- Keep truck and associated equipment tidy and in good working order
