Job Description
Under the direction/supervision of the clinical team, you will perform direct patient services tasks.
Accountabilities:

Assisting with patient turns
-
Mobilization and transport
-
Ordering supplies
-
Daily restocking of supplies in patient care rooms and supply storage areas
-
Maintain and distribute departmental monitoring equipment
-
Transporting patient specimens to the pneumatic tube
-
Contributing to the maintenance of a safe work environment
Qualifications
-
Personal Support Worker certificate from a recognized college
-
Basic Knowledge of aseptic techniques
-
Current CPR
-
Minimum of two to three years recent experience with inpatient medicine and specialized geriatric patient population required

Ability to function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and has demonstrated teamwork abilities

Excellent organizational and prioritization skills

Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

Flexibility to meet unit needs

Demonstrated ability to work in a highly stressful and fast-paced environment

Demonstrated commitment to continuing education in acute care medicine and seniors

Basic computer skills and knowledge of Meditech system

Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record

Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking and comprehension)

Able to handle physical requirements of the job (ability to lift at least 25-30 pounds)
Additional Information
Currently Days/Nights 8 & 12 hours including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)
Salary: 2022/2023*
Minimum: $24.88 per hour
Maximum: $25.44 per hour
- In addition to the above, the role is eligible for a $2 hourly wage enhancement under the Personal Support Worker Permanent Compensation Enhancement Program approved by the Ministry of Health
