POSITION OVERVIEW
The Production Floater is responsible for assisting other positions and rotating through production as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure continuous production by supplying the production team with materials in a timely and efficient manner

Supply the Machine Operators with cartons, fillers, plastics, etc., as needed
-
Supply the Packers with boxes, skids, boards, fillers, plastic, bags, baskets, etc., as needed
-
Organize and maintain the egg carton storage area
-
Ensure cartons are being tracked correctly in the NAV System
-
Consume the correct amount used before scanning to storage in NAV System
-
Wrap and take away carts and skids for Packers, as time permits
-
Communicate verbally with production team on required types and quantities of egg packaging materials as well as communicating any problems with the supply
-
Prepare materials and make boxes ready for packing
-
Count out correct number of boxes, baskets, and skids
-
Ensure established bio security procedures are followed

Operate mobile equipment as needed
-
Check skids of trays if time permits
-
Keep work area clean and tidy and free of hazards
-
Assist colleagues where and when needed

All other duties assigned by the Production Supervisor
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
-
Previous experience working on a production line considered an asset
-
Prior pallet jack experience considered an asset
-
Must be able to work independently, with little supervision
-
Must be able to communicate and work well with others as part of a team, demonstrating politeness, respect, and courtesy in communication and daily interactions
-
Must be able to provide clear, concise general instructions for team effectiveness and productivity
-
Routine decision making which generally follows set standards and procedures
-
This position is encouraged to independently bring forth innovative ideas and suggestions to improve production and/or the work environment
CONFIDENTIALITY
The incumbent will be working in a proprietary environment. Policies and procedures are shared between Golden Valley Foods Ltd. and the L.H. Gray & Son group of companies. Discussion of these with non-Golden Valley Foods and L.H. Gray affiliated employees is strictly forbidden. Some specific policies can be shared with Fresh Start as Golden Valley Foods owners.
