OPSEU 258 salary range for Speech Language Pathologist is $38.13-$43.68 per hour.

The goal of Speech-Language Pathology services at KidsAbility is to support early identification and intervention to enhance the communication skills of children in partnership with their families and community. In KidsAbility School (KAS), the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) supports the school environment to help children achieve successful learning outcomes that will set the stage for their future educational endeavors.
The SLP will spend time in KAS classrooms to provide comprehensive speech and language support in an inclusive school environment. Through assessment, screening, treatment, consultation, and a focus on advocacy for communication issues, the SLP will help children participate and contribute to the classroom environment through careful goal selection and intervention planning. To meet the unique needs of each child, the SLP will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, educational assistants, and other allied health professionals to combine education and therapy.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree of Speech-Language Pathology; registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario
- Proven ability and willingness to work as an integral member of a team
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Computer skills and strong time management skills
- Ability to work independently with little direction, self-motivated and demonstrate initiative
- Experience with children who have a variety of developmental, physical, and communicative disorders and who have alternate and augmentative communication needs and/or feeding/swallowing needs
- Experience specifically with school-aged clients is an asset
- Excellent organizing, coordinating, and managing the program demands in a fast-paced environment
- High levels of attention to detail and confidentiality
- Knowledge of Goldcare or other electronic charting software is an asset
- Proficiency in MS Office and data entry
- Demonstrated consultation and problem-solving skills
- Additional training in articulation, motor speech, voice and feeding and fluency disorders is an asset
- Bilingual in French and English is an asset
- Standard First Aid and CPR are an asset
- Travel is required for these roles. You must have access to a reliable vehicle with public liability/property damage coverage
