Norfolk Little People's Daycare is located in Langton, Norfolk County. The centre offers infant, toddler, and preschool care, as well as an off-site before and after school program, PA Day, and summer camp program. This beautiful centre has been recently renovated both inside and out.
The main purpose of this position is to be responsible for the overall operation and management of the daycare; including budgeting, county reporting and reconciliation, staff oversight, registration and program management and daily admin/accounting duties.
The position would start as soon as can be mutually arranged; and the ideal candidate will:
- Be proficient at leading a team of individuals, posessing strong management skills and sound interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Show a proficiency in business administration, microsoft office and google product suite.
- Have effective time management and organizational abilities, and a professional attitude with demonstrated customer service skills.
- Demonstrate sound decision making skills and professionalism in dealing with sensitive information, necessitating use of discretion, tact, and good judgment.
- Have the ability to work independently and posess superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Be able to establish priorities with attention to detail, and work without direct supervision in an office environment.
Summary of Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain current, accurate and confidential staff and client files.
- Oversee and evaluate staff and ensure their proper training and qualifications.
- Attend monthly board of director meetings, supervisor meetings and staff meetings.
- Ensure Board members and Staff Liaison is knowledgeable of existing and emerging legislation and policy as it relates to HR management and employment.
- Prepare weekly staff schedules based on expected child attendance.
- Ensure continued and proper communication with parents (orientation meetings, inclement weather days, etc.)
- Monitor and record the numbers of children participating in the program. Communicate attendance records in accordance to HNSS standards.
- Update Parent and Staff Handbooks as required by the ministry and ensure parents are following the NLPD policies as outlined in the Parent Handbook.
- Be fully aware of any changes or new guidelines and reporting requirements necessary to ensure continued compliance with the Ministry of Education’s license agreement.
