Position Purpose summary:
This position supports Family Services Coordinator and assists in the daily tasks and requirements of the Family Services Department.
Accountabilities:
· Work within the Community and Family Services Department providing practical assistance to individuals and families in need
· Work closely with the Community Services Coordinator to ensure services offered are consistent and within the Policies and Procedures of The Salvation Army
· Share daily Family Services workload which includes intake, financial information review, guidance, applicable paperwork and follow up
· Assume the Family Services Coordinator’s responsibilities when on holidays and extended leave due to work related commitments
· Attend outside agency meetings as designated
· Attend in-house meetings as required
· Work closely with other Salvation Army Departments such as the Shelters, Housing First and Thrift Store to meet the needs
· Work with outside agencies to fulfill Community & Family Services mandate, referring individuals and families depending on the assistance required
· Review monthly financial reports with Family Services Coordinator
· Enter client information daily into Link2Feed
· Ensure monthly statistical information is collated and provided to the Family Services Coordinator at the end of each month
· Responsible for the Christmas Angel Tree(s) project
· Attend Soup Kitchen lunches during summer months, as requested
· Work with the Family Services Coordinator in facilitating a bridge between Family Services and the Corps by highlighting special events or by personally inviting Shelter guests to join with us for worship if no church affiliation
· Represent The Salvation Army at work-related events when requested
Participate in additional Community & Family Services programs as directed

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Fort Mcmurray, AB T9H 1S7: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- Working with vulnerable individuals: 3 years (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Drivers Licence and clean drivers abstract (required)
