Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sedation Nurse to join our facial plastic surgery practice. Experience in surgical assistance would also be an asset. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, including assisting the surgeon during the procedure, administering sedation, and monitoring patients post-operatively. The ideal candidate will have experience in facial plastic surgery and be able to work collaboratively with our team to ensure a seamless patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the surgeon during surgical procedures, providing necessary supplies and equipment
- Administer sedation and monitor patients during surgical procedures
- Monitor patients post-operatively, ensuring their comfort and safety
- Educate patients and their families about the surgical process and post-operative care
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records
- Collaborate with other members of the surgical team to ensure the highest level of patient care
- Follow all safety protocols and infection control procedures
- Process and package surgical equipment and prepare for surgical cases
- Order medications and supplies
- Participate in continuing education and training to stay up-to-date with the latest surgical techniques and best practices
Qualifications:
- Active nursing license in the state of practice
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a sedation nurse or in acute care
- Experience as operating room nurse is an asset, particularly with experience in Facial Plastics
- ACLS and PALS certification required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to providing exceptional patient care
